Michael Casey's St. Raymond's Information

The listing of children does not include our grandmother Mary Elizabeth Casey or Edward Casey for some reason. Also I thought Uncle Harry's middle name was Purcell but it was Purtill after Michael Casey's mother.

Addendum to St. Raymond's Records

My mother's records also list an Edward. One of the children was born with Down's Syndrome. I thought she said that it was Arthur but Arthur died as an infant. I have his picture. If you click on the name it takes you to the cemetery record and lists the spouses. They lost a number of children between 1912 and 1922 most likely due to the flu epidemic. Also I thought Thomas Casey was the father of Thomas Casey the father of Robert, Barbara, and Tom Casey Jr. He was not it was Charles.

Aunt Jeanette and Uncle George

They were a great couple. Aunt Jeanette was absolutely beautiful. I think Ken Kier III looks quite a bit like Uncle George who looks a little like Frank Casey. Aunt Jeanette was very tall and so was Uncle George. They were a great match.

Casey Home at 515 West 168th St, NYC

Harry Casey, Charlie Casey sitting, Mom wrote dalmation was named "Pink." This house was the house they lived in before moving to Yonkers. Michael Casey died in 1898. The records I have say Charlie died in 1912 and is buried in the Casey Plot in St. Raymonds Cemetery in the Bronx. St. Raymond's lists his birthday as June 16, 1887. The house in Yonkers they moved to later was designed by our grandfather George Edward Kier.  I have the plans for that house.

George Kier Jr. WW II

We have a lot of pictures of Uncle George from WW II. They are wonderful for us to have both because he
was so loved and because they are real historical documents.

Frank Casey in the Fire Department

This is Uncle Frank Casey in the middle practicing in the fire department. Uncle Ken said that he, George, and their cousin Tom used to go to the fire department and slide down the pole.

Grandma Mary Casey Kier and Marion Kier Hook 1916

My mother wrote that this was taken in Echo Park in the Bronx 1916. My mother was such a sweet person. This must have been taken before they moved to Connecticut.

Robert James Hook 1951 Age 6 Weeks

My brother Bobby will always be 19. But here he is at 6 weeks of age. He was our greatest loss. My brothers mean so much to me. They were burned in my heart as little guys.

Uncle George

I have been scanning the old pictures and this one just brought me to tears. It is of Uncle George. Mom wrote with "Suzy" on front and with "Larry" on the back but it is what she wrote on the back that brought the tears. The note says:

"George- My brother and baby Larry.
My brother was a very good kind man of courage who gave more than he ever got except that       he was, much loved.
